The Night Watch II

One of the verses I quoted in my last post has been lingering in my mind.

Mark 13:34 For the Son of man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch.

While I do believe we must be aware and on guard concerning the devil, the world, our own flesh, and the end times, I also believe the Holy Ghost is the porter that God commanded to watch in the above verse. It's quite simple really. Jesus is that man taking the far journey, we are the servants who've been given authority to proclaim repentance and the remission of sin in Jesus' name, and who are given "every man his work", but the Holy Ghost is the one commanded to watch at the door of our hearts. Praise our heavenly Father for his loving kindness in caring for us so completely!
