Clarissa at Counting Our blessings nominated me for the Liebster Award!
Here is my
Liebster Award!!! Thank you Clarissa!
Want to know more about Liebster??
The Liebster Blog Award is given to up and coming
bloggers who have not yet hit the 200 follower mark. The award is
presented by a fellow blogger as a sort of pat on the back "you've got a great
thing started" type of award. "liebster" is German for "favorite"
The
rules-
1. List 11 facts
about yourself.
2. Answer the 11
questions given to you.
3. Create 11 new
questions for the bloggers you nominate for the
award.
4. Choose 11 bloggers
with 200 or less followers to nominate.
5. Go to each
bloggers page and let them know about the
award.
6. Thank the person
who nominated you and link back to their blog.
Eleven facts about me:
1. I'm a sinner saved by the grace of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
2. I was married at 15 1/2 years old.
3. I was raised on a raspberry farm.
4. My oldest son has Diabetes Insipidus ("water diabetes")
5. I will always miss my mom who passed away 5 1/2 years ago from breast cancer.
6. I tend to like blues and greens.
7. Two of my children were home births.
8. I have homeschooled every year since my oldest was 6 except one.(though 3 of my children did attend a Christian school for a couple years, I was still homeschooling during that time except that one year.)
9. I've had 4 miscarriages and 7 children.
10. I like to spend time enjoying God's creation
11. God is my hope, my joy, my lover, my one and only rock.
I would love to nominate 11 bloggers, but alas! I have realized I don't know 11 bloggers who don't already have more than 200 followers or that Clarissa hasn't already nominated!
Clarissa's 11 questions & my answers:
1. What is your favorite thing to do
as a family? Read a good book aloud before bedtime.
2. What is one prayer that God
answered in your life and how? He took my mom peacefully without too much suffering (though I sometimes wondered at the time)
3. What one goal (hope, dream,
prayer) do you have for 2013? I pray God would keep me & my family in faith no matter what comes.
4. What one thing do you hope to
instill in your children? Love, faith and graditude for thier Heavenly Father.
5. What do you do to relax or
de-stress? That's a good question...go for a walk, sing, pray, read to my kids.
6. In what area/subject are you most
creative with your homeschooling?
Not sure...maybe Science.
7. What is one thing you learned
from homeschooling your children? Patience is not given without enduring something that needs patience.
8. If you could live anywhere, where
would it be? If it must be in this world, than I don't know. Somewhere that people have old-fashioned values and the church isn't so judgmental and self-righteous.
9. What is your favorite homeschool
curriculum? I guess I have a few...Easy Grammar, Math-U-See, Apolgia Science, and some Abeka.
10. Do you speak or teach a foreign
language? No, but my kids have asked about learning Latin. Maybe we will yet!
11. Where is your favorite place to
vacation as a family? My Dad's ranch or
the beach.
So... that being said, I don't suppose it does me any good to ask 11 new questions without someone to answer them...BUT how about ONE new question that anyone who comes to my blog can answer? So my question is:
What one thing has changed your life the most?(Besides getting married or having children.)
My answer: hmmm...*smile* maybe it's hard to pin point one thing...homeschooling my kids, my mom dying from cancer, our church "ex-communicating" my dad, or my dad remarrying are all possible answers. I really don't know if I can choose one.
This was fun to do, Clarissa. Thanks!
Yay! I'm glad you did it! ;)
ReplyDeleteI also have a few answers for your question.. #1 being Abigail having mito... Elijah dying... and then same as yours as well!
Very fun to read!! I just may need to do it yet ;)
ReplyDeleteThis is my first time to read your blog. It was interesting to read. To answer your question: my sweet Mom leaving us for "an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens." It has been 1 1/5 years since Jesus called her home and Mom is deeply missed!! Clara
ReplyDeleteThanks for coming by! It seems it can be harder about the time where you are, in your grief journey, than right away or later. Prayers!
DeleteMy answer would have to be the same as yours or...Mike having cancer...or not having much money and selling our home, but I think all of them things together have made me who I am. I guess that's how life is God slowly or faster at times molds us. :) Good read.
